I am so asus did the Asus Xonar, there going to be my next card. They would then wait 2-4 months and "new" audigy driver they had done and were sitting on.Ĭreative is still behind on 64bit drivers.

I'm also sick of creative (when they did update drivers) of hiding new drivers for the Audigy 2 in the Audigy 4 driver set. 6.1 was removed from Vista.īut all other "features" lost creative could fix and there looking to "fix" in release a new card. I do fault the 3d sound issue with EAX and Vista, it true MS removed the DS3D sound stack that EAX relied on but Creatiive new this was coming and did not say anything seemed to respond after the fact. There a sheer public out cry (such as the Nvidia 4 Bios and X-Fi incompatibility glitch) The only times they ever update there drivers on a regular basis:Ĭ. I use to love Creative labs products but.they don't want to support there drivers. There was a report a while back and it showed that they are having serious business problems and are struggling to keep going. (DirectX/DirectSound 3D compatible) Accessories 1 x Quick Start Guide 1 x.

To be fair I'm not surprised they don't release many drivers. XP: DirectSound3D® GX 2.5, EAX®2.0&1.0, DirectSound® HW, DirectSound SW, A3D®1.0, OpenAL generic modes, 128 3D sounds processing capability DS3D GX2.0: DS3D GX 2.5 supports EAX gaming sound effects and DirectSound 3D hardware enhanced functions on Windows 7/Vista. Sure users could keep using XP but the point is the customer support has been terrible. Anyway, come December 21st when the second beta drivers timed out we were left waiting until the day before to have them simply change the expiry date of the previous release and push them out again, not allowing any time to make the transition to new drivers - we're talking about a card used in small recording studios with paying clients and they're keeping silent until mere days before they're meant to expire. However, come September, when the beta drivers were about to time out, they announced about two days before that the release was pushed back to Q4 and pushed out an updated beta driver. My soundcard is the EMU 1820M, part of the Creative Professional brand - it took them until June to release beta Vista drivers, with an announced release date of September for the final drivers. I refuse to touch their consumer products but even their professional products have poor driver support. There was the whole promise with the Soundblaster Live that the processor was so powerful they'd be able to update it over the years to exploit the huge amount of power in it. As mentioned Creative are terrible for driver updates.
